The vagina is a strong, stretchy passage that connects the vulva to the cervix. The vagina produces a clear or whitish liquid that helps keep it clean. A person might start to notice this in their underwear during puberty.

During sexual intercourse, sperm from the penis enters the body through the vagina. During childbirth, the baby is delivered from the uterus through the vagina.
